Munroe Falls, Ohio – Amy Ruman and the Ruman Racing team return to action this weekend at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in Danville, Virginia, as the 2026 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli championship enters its final stretch.
Ruman was last behind the wheel of the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette in July at Watkins Glen International, where a mechanical issue forced her to retire early from the race.
This weekend, Trans Am competitors will tackle VIR’s challenging 3.27-mile, 18-turn full-course configuration, featuring high-speed straightaways and dramatic elevation changes. Last year, Ruman’s race at VIR ended prematurely following an on-track incident late in the race.
“I missed the CMPT race over Labor Day weekend due to a prior engagement, so I’m happy to be back in the car this weekend. VIR is a challenging and unique track and is a favorite on the circuit by fans and drivers. Our season has definitely been different this year with me recovering at the beginning and missing half the races, so I’m looking forward to a great race and solid finish,” commented Ruman.
Fifty-three competitors are entered across all classes, with eight running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Saturday and Sunday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be Sunday September 20, 2026at 1:10pm followed by the Trans Am TA/GT race at 3:20pm. All races are 31-laps/75min – all times listed are ET.
