Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and her No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette are heading South to VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in Danville, VA this weekend for Round 10 of the 2017 Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli. Heading into the final four rounds of the long season, Ruman and team are looking for strong finishes.
After landing a solid second place finish at Watkins Glen, Ruman is looking to ride this momentum into this weekend’s event. A mechanical failure took her out of last year’s podium contention at VIR after moving up through the field and running in second place.
“I really like the VIR circuit, and I’m hoping that the track is good to me this year. We have struggled the past few years here with good finishes, so I’m determined to finish well here this weekend,” stated Ruman. “They really put on a great event, and I know we will put on a good show for the fans.”
Trans Am will be running in conjunction with SVRA’s Heacock Classic Gold Cup event. Drivers will take on the ever challenging, stimulating, iconic 18 turn, 3.27-mile track. Ruman heads to VIR third in the Championship points standings with 41 competitors across all classes are entered, 11 running in Ruman’s TA class.
Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Thursday through Sunday. The TA2 race Powered by AEM will be Saturday, September 23rd at 5:10pm EST, and the Trans Am 100 – TA/3/4 will take place on Sunday, September 24th at 3:25pm EST, both races are 101.37-miles, 31-laps.
