Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli is returning to Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race) this weekend for Round 5 of the schedule as part of the 2024 SpeedTour. Trans Am has only visited Pitt Race once, in 2018, and will be bringing back an action-packed full racing weekend for race fans.
Only a few competitors have run the 2.78-mile, 19 turn circuit, though some teams have done some testing and have competed in the SCCA Major events there. However, Amy Ruman will face a big challenge and will be starting from the back of the pack for the TA race on Sunday. Ruman has a prior family commitment and will miss all sessions on Friday and Saturday and will not be able to practice or qualify the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette.
“I will have my work cut out for me coming on the heels of disappointing races at NOLA and Lime Rock. I’m really hoping to have a good run this weekend and come from behind. This should be an interesting event, the track is challenging and narrow, we don’t have many passing zones. It’s bound to be a great show for the fans!”
Amy and the Ruman Team are pleased to welcome back associate sponsor Valley Automotive Group for the remainder of the year. Valley is a leading car and truck dealership network with locations throughout Ohio and Michigan. “I am thrilled to be a brand ambassador for Valley and Chevrolet and showcase them on the No.23 once again! They are a tremendous family-owned Ohio based company and have supported us throughout the years and I’m so grateful for their partnership,” remarked Ruman.
“Valley Automotive and Valley Truck Centers, featuring Fleet One Rental & Leasing, and Final Vehicle Solutions through Cenweld Corp./Buckeye Body are proud to be a returning sponsor to Ruman Racing, with two-time Trans Am Champion Amy Ruman taking the teams Chevrolet Corvette C7 to a new level with Chevrolet’s “Together Let’s Drive” and Chevy Network sponsorship. Team Valley Motorsports is proud to sponsor Amy Ruman. Amy embodies the above and beyond effort it takes to win consistently and embraces a never quit attitude of our operating companies. She is an ambassador of the Trans Am Series as her team continues to build on her success in pursuit of the checkered flag week in and out. We love competition as does Amy and are always focused on continuous improvement and process development to succeed. Our customers and Amy’s fans are always first!” expressed Brian O’Donnell, President of Valley Automotive and Valley Motorsports.
Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the2024 SpeedTour.
