Munroe Falls, Ohio – Unfortunately, the chase for the 2017 Trigon Trophy was decided last round at NJMP and has come to an end for Amy Ruman and the team. They will round out the season with a final Southern swing hitting the Circuit of the America’s (COTA) in Texas and the finale at Daytona International Speedway in the upcoming next two weekends.
Ruman has seen success at both tracks in the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette, capturing a first and third at COTA the past two years and three wins at Daytona the past three years. After another frustrating race at New Jersey, Ruman is anxious to get back in the car and finish up the season strongly. Ruman has had two 2nd place podium finishes this year and is still in search of a win in 2017.
“This season has been far from great for us, so I’m eager to end it on a high note,” stated Ruman. “COTA and Daytona are tracks we have done pretty well at in the past, so I’m hoping some things go our way here in the final two rounds. Both are great tracks and great venues, so it should be more great racing and a lot of fun.”
This will be Trans Am’s third consecutive appearance at the signature purpose built Formula 1 track and will be running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) for a weekend full of Texas fun and entertainment.
Drivers will be competing on the world-class track that is 3.4 miles long and is made up of 20 challenging turns. It also includes several dramatic natural elevation changes and features a 133-foot climb up to an extremely tight turn 1. Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Thursday thru Saturday. The Trans American 100 – TA/3/4 will be Saturday, November 4th at 10:45am, and the TA2 Trans American Muscle Car Challenge Race Powered by AEM will take place at 4:35pm, both races are 102.81-miles, 30-laps – all times listed are CDT.
