Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli reached its halfway point of the 2023 SpeedTour season this past weekend after completing Round 6 at the team’s home track, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH.
Ruman’s TA class had a slick, wet, and rainy qualifying session late Friday afternoon, and she qualified 12th in the multi-class grid for the TA/GT Saturday feature race. It was raining early Saturday morning but dried as the sun came out for the race. She quickly moved through the field and settled in comfortably in 7th position. Once again, the battle of the Ohio drivers continued at their home track, where Ruman tailed Pintaric and they raced nose to tail for the majority of the race. On lap 35, the two encountered some lapped traffic and set up Ruman to split the pair up the middle of Thunder Valley. Ultimately, Ruman would take home 5th place in her No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette in the TA class, with that pass earning her the COOLSHIRT Cool Move of the Race award.

After Round 6, Chris Dyson leads TA National class championship with 598 points, followed by Matthew Brabham in second – 587, Tomy Drissi in third – 493, David Pintaric is fourth – 478, and Amy Ruman sits in fifth – with 467 points. The Series heads to Road America, WI July 6th-9th.
