Munroe Falls, OH – The Ruman team, fielding sisters Amy and Niki Ruman, enjoyed a successful Memorial Day weekend of racing at Nelson Ledges Road Course, OH.
Amy Ruman scored her second win in 7 days, having won at Mid-Ohio last Sunday in addition to Nelson Ledges this Sunday where she sped to victory from the pole position. Ruman also reclaimed the GT-1 track record at Nelson’s with a time of 1:02.407, a top speed of 159 mph and an average speed of 115.371 mph.
“What an awesome weekend team Ruman had!! It sure was great having back to back wins and two track records,” exclaimed Amy Ruman. “The #23 McNichols Corvette ran very smoothly and the team did a great job with the set up. I was hoping to score the record with a 1:01.915 like I did in qualifying, but the track just got hot too quickly Sunday morning.”
Niki Ruman kicked off her season in the #23 McNichols Co./Dynasty Motorsports sponsored Spec Racer with a 3rd place finish in Sunday’s 23-lap race after qualifying 5th. “I’m pleased with the 3rd place finish and I particularly enjoyed charging close to 2nd place during the final lap. There was plenty of track time this weekend, along with beautiful weather and good competition,” stated Niki Ruman.
