February 18, 2003 – Munroe Falls, OH – Bob Ruman and Ruman Racing announce plans to compete in the 2003 Trans-Am Series. Ruman returns to Trans-Am competition in 2003, having raced in the series since 1996. He finished 13th in Trans-Am Series points standings in 2002 and 9th in points standings in 2001.
The team welcomes back the sponsorship of McNichols Co. for the third season in a row. The Tampa, FL based distributor of perforated metal and plastic products has service centers throughout the United States. The company has been pleased with the customer and employee connections it has made through participation in the Trans-Am Series.
Cenweld Corp., is returning for another season of Trans-Am Racing. Cenweld Corp. is based in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and is a nationally recognized, final stage manufacturer of motor trucks for commercial, utility and municipal applications located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Ruman’s red and black #23 McNichols/Cenweld Corvette is a familiar sight to Trans-Am fans. He has been a steady top-10 competitor throughout his eight-year career in Trans-Am.

St. Petersburg will kick off the eleven race schedule of the 2003 Trans-Am for the BFGoodrich Cup Series.
In its 38th year, the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup is the longest-running road racing series in North America. Since its inception in 1966, the Trans-Am has provided a competition arena for stock-appearing touring (sedans) and grand touring (sports) race cars.
