Munroe Falls, OH – Amy Ruman and Niki Ruman will both be back in racing action this coming weekend, driving in the SCCA Double National at Watkins Glen International, NY. The two will compete on the Watkins Glen 3.4-mile “long course,” where Amy Ruman still holds the GT-1 track record at 1:52.693 seconds set back in July of 2006.
Amy Ruman will be trying to score her third & fourth GT-1 wins of the season in this weekend’s races, driving the #23 McNichols Co./Goodyear/Cenweld Chevrolet Corvette. “This has to be my year to win at Watkins Glen! It is my favorite track and I have the GT-1 track record, but in all the years I have been running her, I have yet to win. I feel we will be strong this weekend as the car has been running great this season,” remarked Ruman.
Niki Ruman will be driving her #23 McNichols Co./Dynasty Motorsports Spec Racer in only her second race of the season. She is coming off a great 3rd place finish at the May National at Nelson Ledges, OH. “I am really happy to get back in the car again this weekend. The Glen is one of my favorite tracks and we always have great competition in SRF which will make for a fun race,” stated Ruman.
The sisters will hit the track with two qualifiers on Friday, qualify and race on Saturday, and qualify and race again on Sunday. Niki will be in Group 5 and Amy in Group 6.
