Munroe Falls, Ohio – After another tough round in her 2017 season at Mid-Ohio a few weeks ago, Ruman will try and bounce back to the top of the pack this weekend at Road America. This weekend’s race is Round 8 of the 2017 Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli, and will be running in conjunction with the NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA.
The Series heads to legendary Road America, WI, a 14-turn 4.048 mile track, and a track that Ruman has yet to win at in her Trans Am career. The crew has worked tirelessly repairing the damaged No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette during the short week and a half window between races.
“Unfortunately the McNichols Vette sustained quite a bit of damage from the contact that happened at Mid-Ohio, so my Dad and the guys have been very busy the past week. They finished it up and now we are headed to Road America. I am going to remain positive and prepare just like we always do for the weekend, looking for a good strong finish and try and get some momentum heading to the end of the season,” said Ruman.
Last year the race was rain soaked and Ruman brought home at 7th place finish. 58 competitors in all classes are entered for the event, with 15 running in Ruman’s TA class. The weekend will start off with a promoter test day and official practice 1 on Friday August 25th. Practice 2 and qualifying will take place on Saturday. The TA/3/4 race will be quite early at 8:05am Sunday, followed by the TA2 race at 9:20am CST, both at 101.2-miles, 25-laps – all times listed are Central Time.
