Munroe Falls, Ohio – After a slow start to the 2018 season, Ruman is hoping for redemption at Round 3, the South Florida Sportscar Challenge, of the Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli.
Poor finishes in the opening rounds at Sebring and Road Atlanta see Ruman determined to change course and navigate back to the front of the field. Ruman saw victory at Homestead, winning there in 2015 in her
No. 23 McNichols Chevrolet Corvette. Drivers will be running the “roval” style configuration of the circuit, making it a 2.27 mile/102.15-mile, 45-lap race on the joint road course/oval formation.
“We are taking it one race at a time and this weekend we are looking for improvements. We just need a race where all aspects come together, hopefully this is the weekend that happens. It’s very early in the season, but we are definitely behind the eight ball now but it’s a challenge we are willing to accept,” stated Ruman.
There are 39 competitors entered for this weekend’s races across the four classes. Ruman’s TA class, at 13 entries, will run the multi-class format featuring a joint race with the TA/TA3/TA4 classes for a total of 18 race entries. The TA2 class, powered by AEM, will run a separate race with 21 entries.
Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Friday through Sunday. The South Florida Sportscar Challenge – TA/3/4 will take place on Sunday, April 15th, 2018 at 9:20am EST, followed by the TA2 Muscle Car Challenge race at 2:20pm EST, both races are 102.15-mile, 45-laps.
