Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli is heading across the country over the next two weekends for Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2025 schedule. The West Coast swing will kick off this weekend at Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma, California. The following weekend teams will have a quick turnaround and head directly South to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA.
Last month, Ruman took home a solid fourth-place finish in the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Chevrolet Corvette at Road Atlanta after qualifying in eighth. “Had a decent run at Road Atlanta and gained some valuable points there, unfortunately our setup was a little off and we faded a bit in the end. It was too bad we missed out on another podium finish,” expressed Ruman.
The National Trans Am schedule hasn’t visited to the West Coast since 2022, and Ruman has only raced at Sonoma two times in her racing career. Drivers will run the full-length road course layout at Sonoma, a 2.520 mi circuit featuring 12-turns on a hilly course with 160 feet of total elevation change and many blind turns.
“We are off to a challenging back-to-back weekend stint but I’m excited to compete at these iconic California circuits. We had a mechanical issue at Sonoma the last time we ran there so I’m looking forward to having a better run this weekend and getting up to speed quickly,” commented Ruman.
Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the2025 SpeedTour. Fifty-nine competitors are entered across all classes, with eight running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be Saturday, April 26th at 3:40pmET/12:40pmPT followed by TA/GT feature race on Sunday at 1:35pmET/10:35amPT, both races are 40-laps, 100.8-miles.
