Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and the team are race ready and will be back in action this weekend for the Round 3 of the 2023 Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli. The Series is heading to Braselton, GA, in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA).
Once again teams had another brief turnaround after leaving NOLA just a week and half ago. Amy Ruman has enjoyed many triumphs at the 12-turn, 2.54-mile iconic Road Atlanta track, driving the No. 23 McNichols Co. Chevrolet Corvette to three career victories there; in 2011 she captured her historic first ever Trans Am win at Road Atlanta, also won in 2015 and 2016, captured a second-place finish in 2017, and a third in 2019.
“We definitely have had a difficult start to the season this year. We had a great car at NOLA until the contact, so I’m confident we can be fast again here this weekend at Road Atlanta. I love this track and we have had great finishes here. We really need a solid run here to gain some valuable points to get back into the Championship hunt. The fans love Trans Am here so I know we will be putting on a great show for them,” commented Ruman.
Sixty-three competitors are entered across all classes, with eleven running in Ruman’s TA class. Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the 2023 SpeedTour. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature race will be Saturday, March 25th at 12:50pm followed by The Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2® Series race on Sunday at 12:15pm EDT, both races are 101.6-miles, 40-laps.
