Munroe Falls, Ohio – Amy Ruman and the Trans Am Series are heading to New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend for the Weekend of Thunder, Round 11 of the 2017 Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli. Ruman has had much success at NJMP, winning three out of the last four races there, and just falling shy of the win in 2016 with a 2nd place. Ruman is still seeking her first win in the 2017 season in the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette.
“The season is winding down and still looking to get a win this season, no better place to do it than NJMP!” exclaimed Ruman. “This track has been good to me over the years. It’s a very tricky course, with not a lot of grip sometimes especially when it’s hot out. I’m hoping for cooler temperatures than we had at VIR, man was that a hot race. I can’t say enough about the NJ TA fans either, they always have a great turnout.”
Trans Am will be running in conjunction with F2000, F1600, the Atlantic Championship Series and Pro-IT. Drivers will be competing on the 2.25-mile “Thunderbolt” circuit, with testing, practices, and qualifying taking place Friday thru Sunday. The TA2 New Jersey Muscle Car Challenge Race Powered by AEM will be Sunday, October 8th at 10:25am EST, and the New Jersey Trans Am 100 – TA/3/4 will take place at 1:45pm EST, both races are 101.25-miles, 45-laps. In the pursuit of her third Championship, Ruman maintains third in the TA class with just three races to go in the 2017 season.
