Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli travels to the renowned Watkins Glen International road course this weekend. This track is a fan favorite will be Series’ 30th appearance at the prominent New York circuit.
Trans Am will be running again in conjunction with SVRA’s wildly popular U.S. Vintage Grand Prix event, and 56 competitors across all classes are entered, with 17 running in Ruman’s premier TA class. Drivers will be running the 3.4-mile “long course” configuration which includes “the boot” section of the course.
After capturing a win in 2016 and a second-place finish in 2017, Ruman is looking to grace the podium again with another win in her No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette. “Out of all the awesome circuits we race, Watkins Glen is my favorite. There are so many facets to this track, it’s a drivers dream come true. From the uphill esses, to the “bus stop”, to the “boot”, the entire track is invigorating! We had a solid finish at Road America, so I’m looking to take that momentum into this weekend,” remarked Ruman.
Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Wednesday through Saturday. The TA/3/4 race will be Saturday, September 8th at 10:55am EST, and the TA2 race powered by AEM will take place on Sunday, September 9th at 10:55am EST, both races are 102-miles, 30-laps.
