Munroe Falls, Ohio – After starting off the weekend with a star-studded Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Sebring International Raceway, two-time Trans Am Champion and now TA Hall of Famer Amy Ruman drove her No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Chevrolet Corvette to a third-place podium finish to cap off the celebratory weekend in the first race of the 2025 SpeedTour.
The newly created Trans Am Hall of Fame held the induction ceremony for the inaugural class on Friday night. The inaugural class consisted of eighteen legendary drivers, team owners, and series officials: John Clagett, Wally Dallenbach Jr., Mark Donohue, Chris Dyson, Ron Fellows, George Follmer, Ernie Francis Jr., Paul Gentilozzi, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Tommy Kendall, Roger Penske, Greg Pickett, Scott Pruett, Willy T. Ribbs, Jack Roush, Amy Ruman, and Bob Tullius.
Ruman had a mechanical issue during the Saturday afternoon qualifier, ultimately taking P8. However, Ruman started the race in seventh after a post-qualifying penalty moved Dallenbach Jr. to the back. On Sunday, the green flag flew on a warm sunny Florida morning, and Ruman immediately slotted into sixth place. After some ongoing battles and attrition, she crossed the finish line third overall echoing last year’s third place finish.
“I mean, where do I even begin?!” exclaimed Ruman. “What a weekend for my sponsors and team. I’m so humbled, honored, and proud to be inducted into the TA HOF and then to cap off the weekend with a podium really is a testament to my team! They worked so hard all weekend long ironing out some kinks and we had a great drive from seventh to third, a great way to start out the 2025 season. I also want to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday this week, this one is for you!”
After Round 1, Paul Menard leads TA National class championship with 104 points, followed by Adam Andretti in second – 98, Amy Ruman in third – 93, Tomy Drissi is fourth – 88, and Humaid Masaood sits in fifth – with 84 points. The Series heads to Road Atlanta, GA, March 20th-23rd.
