Munroe Falls, Ohio –The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli will be back in action after its mid-summer hiatus and is heading to Watkins Glen International, NY (WGI) this weekend. Amy Ruman and her team are anxious to get back to racing as they head into the final four rounds of the season. The TA class has not raced since Round 7 at Road America, WI June 30th.
Durning the break, Ruman was invited to participate in the first iconic SpeedTour All Star Race weekend at Lime Rock Park, CT July 20th, where she drove a TA2 car for the first time in conjunction with some world class past and present drivers. Ruman has had success at WGI, winning here in 2016 and securinmany podium finishes throughout the years.
Trans Am returns to the infamous road course for The Mission Foods Watkins Glen SpeedTour, Round 8 on the schedule and part of the 2024 SpeedTour. Sportscar Vintage Racing Association’s Hillard U.S. Vintage Grand Prix event will be packed with racing and many activities for fans to enjoy throughout the long weekend. Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), the Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA), International GT (IGT), and Ginetta Challenge.

Competitors will be running the 3.4-mile “long course” configuration which includes “the boot” section of the track. Fifty-four competitors are entered across all classes, with nine running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be Friday, August 23rd at 4:00pm. The Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature will be Sunday at 1:15pm ET, with a fan walk on pit lane beginning at 12:40pm ET.

Heading to WGI, Paul Menard leads the TA National class championship with 686 points, followed by Chris Dyson in second – 620, Tomy Drissi third – 585, Adam Andretti is fourth – 567, and Amy Ruman sits in fifth – with 566 points.
MAVTV COVERAGE AND LIVE STREAMING: The 2024 National Championship will broadcast LIVE on MAVTV’s linear television network and its Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channel, MAVTV Select. The 2024 SpeedTour will also be LIVE streamed online on a variety of social media platforms including Trans Am Series and the SpeedTourTV YouTube channels. In addition to live broadcasts of the events, 60-minute highlight shows will air Thursdays on MAVTV in primetime following each race weekend, with the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race airing at 8:00 p.m. ET and the TA/XGT/SGT/GT race airing at 9:00 p.m. ET as part of MAVTV’s ‘World of Racing’ programming block.
