Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman took home another fourth-place finish in Ryan Companies Road America Classic just over a week ago in Round 7 of the 2019 Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli.
After qualifying in fifth position, Ruman moved up to fourth place in the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette and ran a consistent race pace. Late laps saw her working toward a battle with the No. 36 of Cliff Ebben, but he was able to hold her off for the last step on the podium.
“I was pretty happy with our performance at Road America, unfortunately some late race lapped traffic played a role in our chances for a third-place finish. But Cliff (Ebben) was running well, and he was able to play it just right and hold us off,” said Ruman. “I’m excited to head to the Glen this weekend, everyone knows its my favorite track and we have had successes there – a win in 2016 and a second in 2017 – so I’m counting on a top finish. The competition in the Series is very stiff this year, but we are still in the hunt for the Championship and anything can happen in these finial rounds. We remain third in the points, but I really need a win to help us move up, we will keep pushing!”
The Series returns to Watkins Glen International, NY this weekend for its 31st appearance at the historic road course for Round 8 on the schedule.
