Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli will return to NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, LA, this weekend as part of the 2024 SpeedTour.
This marks the fourth time the Series will visit NOLA Motorsports Park, past visits include 2015, 2016, and 2023. Amy Ruman drove her No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette to win there in 2015, captured a second-place finish in 2016, and a sixth in 2023. Located just 14 miles from the French Quarter of New Orleans, NOLA presents a 2.75-mile, world-class track consisting of 16 turns, with a 5,200-foot straightaway.
“The Championship is already proving to be exciting, and we are only heading into Round 3. I’ve had success at NOLA and I’m focused on continuing to have consistent finishes, because ultimately I feel that will be the key to winning the Championship this year,” asserted Ruman.
Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the2024 SpeedTour. Thirty-two competitors are entered across all classes, with five running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature race will be Saturday, March 13th at 1:10pm followed by the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race on Sunday at 12:05pm CST, both races are 101.75-miles, 37-laps. After Round 2, Paul Menard leads TA National class championship with 184 points, followed by Keith Grant in second – 180, Adam Andretti third – 179, Amy Ruman is fourth – 177, and Tomy Drissi sits in fifth – with 169 points.
MAVTV COVERAGE AND LIVE STREAMING: The 2024 National Championship will broadcast LIVE on MAVTV’s linear television network and its Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channel, MAVTV Select. The 2024 SpeedTour will also be LIVE streamed online on a variety of social media platforms including Trans Am Series and the SpeedTourTV YouTube channels. In addition to live broadcasts of the events, 60-minute highlight shows will air Thursdays on MAVTV in primetime following each race weekend, with the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race airing at 8:00 p.m. ET and the TA/XGT/SGT/GT race airing at 9:00 p.m. ET as part of MAVTV’s ‘World of Racing’ programming block.
