May 14, 2002 – CANADA CALLS: BOB RUMAN RACES IN TRANS-AM ROUND TWO AT MOSPORT
4TH IN TRANS-AM POINTS STANDINGS
Munroe Falls, OH – Coming off his fifth place finish at the Long Beach season opener, Bob Ruman will swing into Canada to compete in round two at the Victoria Day Trans-Am event this weekend. Ruman’s finish last month was his second top five finish at Long Beach. It also means that he is fourth in the Trans-Am points standings.
Ruman, in the Cenweld/McNichols Co. Corvette, will look to strengthen his position in the Championship race with a top five finish in Sunday’s 100-mile event. Last year, Ruman finished 9th at Long Beach and won the Hard Charger Award. Ruman finished 9th in the Trans-Am Series points standings in 2001.
“The Cenweld/McNichols Co. Corvette was very strong at Long Beach and we’ve been working on improvements for Mosport, so we expect to have another solid performance,” said Ruman. “We also expect that the rules changes recently implemented to help make the Corvette and Jaguar body styles equally competitive will add to the excitement of the racing.”
