SEASON OPENER KICKS OFF AT LONG BEACH

Munroe Falls, OH – Bob Ruman heads into his 7th Trans-Am season this weekend at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Ruman, who finished 9th in the Trans-Am Series points standings in 2001, has been very successful at Long Beach over the years. In 2000, Ruman was on the podium with 3rd place in 2000 and has finished in the top-10 four times. Ruman will drive the 2002 Cenweld/McNichols Co. Chevrolet Corvette in the Johnson Controls Long Beach race. Sunday’s event is 100 miles and will include a pit-stop.
“We are eager to get on the track at Long Beach and begin another thrilling Trans-Am season,” exclaimed Ruman. “With the added element of pit-stops at the races this year, there is a whole new dimension to each race. My team has worked hard in the off-season to prepare a very strong car for me, now it’s time for me to go to work and do my job on the track.”
