Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and the team are all eyes on the 20-23 Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli season as the two-time Trans Am Champion will return and compete in the National Tour for another full season aiming for a third Championship title. The season kicks off this weekend at its usual spot, Sebring International Raceway. Amy Ruman ended the 2022 Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli season third overall in points standings, in an extremely tight points battle for second through fourth positions heading into the final race. The outcome remained unchanged between Drissi, Ruman, and Thwaits.

This week, Parella Motorsport Holdings (PMH) announced that Amy Ruman will serve as Scholarship Ambassador for the PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship program in 2023, with the program backing five female drivers in Trans Am, SVRA, F4 US, FR Americas. “It is so significant that Tony (Parella) and PMH are recognizing female talent in motorsports. It is of vital importance to have more diverse fields and talent from all walks of life in this industry. The great news is that we keep seeing more and more diverse success across the board from drivers to engineers to upper management…all crucial positions. My family and I have been long time representatives of the Trans Am Series and I’m honored to take on this important role as an ambassador to these young and upcoming drivers,” noted Ruman.

The TA class is going to have stiff competition this year, with some of the top competitors purchasing new state of the art TA cars. Defending Champion Chris Dyson, David Pintaric, Ken Thwaits, and Trackhouse Racing team owner Justin Marks have all purchased new Ave/Riley Technologies TA cars. Tomy Drissi will also be debuting a new car built by 3GT Racing.
A huge field is expected for the Sebring opening round, with seventy competitors entered across all classes at the 3.7-mile road course, with fourteen running in Ruman’s TA class. Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the 2023 SpeedTour. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2® Series race will be Saturday, February 25th at 12:45pm followed by the Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature race on Sunday at 1:10pm ET, both races are 100.98-miles, 27-laps. LIVE STREAMING AND MAVTV COVERAGE OF THE TRANS AM SEASON: The entire lineup of 2023 SpeedTour will LIVE stream for FREE! Fans can watch from anywhere on a variety of social media platforms including SpeedTour.TV, the Trans Am Facebook page, and YouTube channels SpeedTourTV and the Trans Am Series. Trans Am races will then air in a one-hour format on the Thursday nights after each of the 12 National Championship event weekends. The 60-minute feature shows will be broadcast to MAVTV’s 22-million North American linear households and 175 million connected devices. The Thursday-night primetime slot will include a two-hour block of racing, with the Big Machine Vodka SPIKED Coolers TA2® Series airing at 8:00 p.m. ET and the TA/XGT/SGT/GT class race airing at 9:00 p.m. ET. The block will be capped off by the 30-minute Showtime Motorsports docuseries, Road to Glory.
