Ruman Prepared for Detroit Street Battle in 3-Dimensional Motor City 100 – Trans Am Round 4

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli is heading back to the heart of it all – Detroit, MI, the celebrated Motor City in the United States.  The series returns to the Belle Isle venue after last year’s invitational round, and this time the 3-Dimensional Motor City 100 race will count toward the points in the championships for the TA and TA2 classes. Ruman heads to Detroit second in the standings, just 13 points behind first.

The TA and TA2 teams will compete on the temporary 2.3-mile street circuit, the Detroit Grand Prix Raceway at Belle Isle Park.  In addition to the Trans Am 3-Dimensional Motor City 100 this weekend, race fans will see a schedule that is packed with an unbelievable racing line-up featuring the Verizon IndyCar Series, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks. The weekend collectively is referred to as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and it will feature the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit IndyCar doubleheader.

Ruman Scores 2nd – Back on Podium at Road Atlanta Trans Am Round 3

Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman found her way back to the podium for the first time this season at Road Atlanta in Round 3 of the Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli.

Ruman added to her successes at the iconic Road Atlanta circuit by garnering a 2nd place finish in the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette.  She has scored three career victories here; 2016, 2015, and captured her historic first ever Trans Am win here in 2011.

After an extremely tight qualifying session, Ruman started in fourth for the early Saturday morning race. She immediately sprung into third position, while keeping first and second in sights.  Mid-race, Ruman slid into second pressuring first for the rest of the laps.

“The setup finally clicked for us this weekend and we had a decent, competitive Corvette. The top three of us were pretty evenly matched, when it looked the #33 car has some mechanical issues. After that Ernie (Francis, Jr.) and I had a pretty good battle going, but I just couldn’t get by him. I’m happy with the finish though, it was a good points day for us and we moved into second in the standings!” stated Ruman. “I’m looking forward to Detroit in a few weeks, hopefully we can use this momentum.”

The top five spots in the Championship points race shifted following the results this weekend. Ernie Francis, Jr. moves into first with 84 points, followed by Amy Ruman – 71, Cliff Ebben – 65, Vincent Allegretta – 62, and Tomy Drissi – 58. *Subject to change, results were still provisional at time of release.

Ruman Ready for Road Atlanta Trans Am Round 3

Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman is race ready and will be back in action this weekend for Round 3 or the Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli. The Series is heading to Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA alongside the Formula Drift series.

Ruman and team have enjoyed much success at the 2.54-mile iconic Road Atlanta circuit driving the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette, as she has scored three career victories here; 2016, 2015, and captured her historic first ever Trans Am win here in 2011.

“I love Road Atlanta and can’t wait to get back in action this weekend!” exclaimed Ruman. “We have had some strong dominate wins here in the past and I’m just going to try and repeat that again on Saturday. I definitely haven’t been running as well as I should be this year, so I’m looking to turn that around.”

There are 55 competitors entered for this weekend’s races across the four classes, with 17 entered in the TA class. The weekend will start off with a promoter test day on Thursday May 11th. Two official TA practices and a qualifying session will take place on Friday May 12th. Saturday will feature two Trans Am races – the TA/3/4 race at 8:55am followed by the TA2 at 11:30am, both at 40-laps (101.6-mi) – all times listed are ET. P5 for Ruman at Homestead in Trans Am Round 2

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The South Florida sun was shining on all of the Trans Am teams as the Championship Presented by Pirelli raced at Homestead-Miami International Speedway this past weekend for Round 2 of the season.

The weekend started off very strong for Ruman as she led both practice sessions on Saturday morning in her No. 23 McNichols Chevrolet Corvette. She was edged out of second place during the qualifier Saturday afternoon and the top five were as follows: (1) Stanton Barrett 01:15.614, (2) Ernie Francis Jr. 01:16.211, (3) Amy Ruman 01:16.262, (4) RJ Lopez, 01:16.365, (5) Vinnie Allegretta 01:16.834.

Ruman took the green flag in third position Sunday afternoon. The top five ran closely, with positions changing from second place on back throughout the race, including two late race cautions which bunched up the field. Ruman captured another top-five finish.

“I thought the race was going to go a little better for us since we were so fast throughout the weekend. Despite posting the third quickest lap in the race, I just didn’t have it for them today. Congrats to Ernie (Francis Jr.) on his first TA win. I’m looking forward to Road Atlanta coming up in May,” stated Ruman.

The Championship points race tightens up as the top five have shifted a bit. Cliff Ebben remains in the lead with 54, followed by Ernie Francis, Jr. with 50, Vincent Allegretta – 47, Tomy Drissi -46, and Amy Ruman – 44 points.

Ruman Aiming for Top Spot at Homestead this Weekend–Trans Am Round 2

Munroe Falls, Ohio – Round 2 is upon us for the Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli as the Series heads to sunny Southern Florida this weekend to run at Homestead-Miami International Speedway.

Ruman is aiming for the top spot again after winning at Homestead in 2015. Ruman, in her No. 23 McNichols Chevrolet Corvette, is looking to come out strong after a frustrating 5th place finish last month at the Sebring season opener.  Drivers will be running the “roval” style configuration of the circuit, making it a 2.27 mile/45 lap race on the joint road course/oval formation.

Ruman detailed, “I’m eager to get back in the car this weekend at Homestead.  My Dad and the team have made some significant changes that I think will lead to overall improvement in our new C7.  I’m looking forward to being fast and consistent throughout the weekend.  Homestead can be a very slippery track, so I’m counting on the new Pirelli’s to have lots of grip.”

There are 49 competitors entered for this weekend’s races. The TA class, at 15 entries, will run the multi-class format featuring a joint race with the TA/TA3/TA4 classes for a total of 31 race entries.  The TA2 class, powered by AEM, will run a separate race with 17 entries.

The weekend will start off with a promoter test day on Friday April 7th. Official TA practices 1,2, and qualifying will take place on Saturday April 8th. Sunday will feature two Trans Am races – the TA2 race at 11:00am followed by the TA/3/4 at 1:15pm, both at 45-laps (102.15-mi) – all times listed are ET.
