Ruman Set for 2025 Trans Am Season Opener and Trans Am Hall of Fame Induction at Sebring International

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Ruman Racing team will once again field two-time Trans Am Champion Amy Ruman in the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Chevrolet Corvette for another awesome Trans Am season competing for a chance at a third Trans Am Championship title. The series returns for the traditional season opener at the renowned Sebring International Raceway. Ruman ended the 2024 Championship season fourth overall in points standings after running a slightly abbreviated season competing in ten of the eleven race schedule.

This weekend will not only be packed with racing but will also feature the first induction ceremony for the newly created Trans Am Hall of Fame honoring the longest-running professional road racing series in North America. The induction will be held on Friday night at an exclusive dinner for inductees and guests. Amy Ruman was announced as one of the inductees in the inaugural class. The initial members range from the series’ earliest winners and champions to influential figures who have shaped modern motorsports, as well as groundbreaking competitors still competing in the Trans Am Series today. The inaugural class consists of eighteen legendary drivers, team owners and series officials listed in alphabetical order: John Clagett, Wally Dallenbach Jr., Mark Donohue, Chris Dyson, Ron Fellows, George Follmer, Ernie Francis Jr., Paul Gentilozzi, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Tommy Kendall, Roger Penske, Greg Pickett, Scott Pruett, Willy T. Ribbs, Jack Roush, Amy Ruman and Bob Tullius.

Earlier this week, Parella Motorsport Holdings (PMH) announced that Amy Ruman will again serve as a mentor and Trans Am Series ambassador for several of the younger drivers for the PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship program in 2025. The program assists in backing fourteen racers competing in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.), Ligier JS F4 Series (JS F4) and Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA).

A competitive field is expected for the Sebring opening round, with sixty-two competitors entered across all classes at the 3.7-mile road course, including eleven running in Ruman’s premier TA class. Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) as part of the2025 SpeedTour. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Thursday through Sunday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be Saturday, February 22nd at 12:15pm followed by the Trans Am TA/GT feature race on Sunday at 10:50am ET, both races are 100.98-miles, 27-laps. Ruman’s Race Ends Early in Season Finale at COTA – Takes 4th in Championship Title Race

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The 2024 Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli ended this past weekend at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas. Heading into the finale, the points battle between the top five was mostly locked in, with little to no room for overtaking positions in the final round of the season.

The last stop on the 2024 SpeedTour was not the result the team hoped for. Ruman struggled a bit with grip and setup during the weekend, qualifying the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette seventh in the TA class and ultimately suffered a mechanical failure in the race, ending her run early with thirteen laps remaining.

“We had a different setup on the car every time we went out trying to find the best combo for the race. Practice got rained out, so we never had a chance to test it out before qualifying. We improved it for the race and was really running well. Unfortunately, we had a mechanical ending our race early,” stated Ruman

“Just shy of third place, we took home fourth in the Championship after missing one of the races. I’m so proud of this Ruman/McNichols team, they worked so hard all season long. We had had three podium finishes in 2024 and had to fight some adversity, but never once did we give up. Final standings for the TA National class championship – Paul Menard won the TA National class championship with 1054 points, followed by Chris Dyson in second – 981, Tomy Drissi third – 934, Amy Ruman fourth – 821, and Adam Andretti in fifth – with 642 points.

Ruman Ready to Ride Podium Momentum into Trans Am Season Finale at COTA

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli Series is heading South to wrap up the 2024 Season in a Texas sized season finale at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas.

Heading into the finale, Ruman is ready to ride her podium momentum into Texas after a hard fought third-place finish in Round 10 at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) earlier in October, her third podium finish this season. The points battle between the top five is most likely locked in, with little to no room for overtaking positions in the final round of the season. Ruman missed the 2023 COTA race and is excited to return to the notorious circuit.

This is the last stop on the 2024 SpeedTour and Trans Am’s tenth consecutive appearance at the renowned signature purpose-built Formula 1 track. Running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), fans will be welcomed with tons of fun and entertainment. The 3.4-mile world-class track is made up of 20 turns and dramatic elevation changes, including the 133-foot climb up to an extremely tight turn 1.

“Here we are already, the season finale! COTA is always a fantastic race, and I’m thrilled to be back. We are coming off a great run at VIR a few weeks ago in the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette, so I’m focused on finishing the season on a high note. Heading into the final round– Paul Menard leads the TA National class championship with 967 points, followed by Chris Dyson in second – 874, Tomy Drissi third – 835, Amy Ruman is fourth – 745, and Adam Andretti sits in fifth – with 642 points. The season will end Sunday evening with the annual Trans Am Honors Gala where the hard work and dedication of drivers, teams, and workers will be celebrated.

Ruman Set for VIRgina International Raceway SpeedTour

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli is heading to VIRgina International Raceway (VIR) in Danville, VA, this weekend to round out the last two races of the season. After missing Labor Day weekend’s Round 9 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Bowmanville, CA, Amy Ruman and team are excited to get back to racing as they head into the final two rounds of the 2024 Championship.

Ruman’s last race was August 25th at Watkins Glen, NY, where she drove the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette to a fifth-place finish after qualifying seventh. Ruman had great battles throughout the race with Drissi, Said, and Grant (K) in Round 8 of the Championship.

Ruman has scored several third-place finishes at VIR over the years, but suffered a gear failure in last year’s race forcing her to retire early. Trans Am drivers will run the 3.27-mile “full course” 18-turn configuration, featuring high speed straightaways and dramatic elevation changes at the notorious road course.

“I can’t wait to get back in the No. 23 this weekend at VIR. This track is a fan favorite and a favorite for TA drivers as well. It’s very fast and challenging which always presents exciting racing. We are focused on finishing out the season on a strong note, ideally with two podium finishes in our future. It should be an exciting race with some new faces and deep competition in the TA class,” commented Ruman.

As part of the 2024 SpeedTour, Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) providing a packed weekend with many activities for fans to participate in. Fifty-three competitors are entered across all classes for the weekend, with eight running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Thursday through Sunday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be Saturday. October 5th at 12:40pm. The Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature will be Sunday at 1:20pm ET, with a fan walk on pit lane beginning at 12:40pm ET. Ruman Back in Action for The Mission Foods Watkins Glen SpeedTour

Munroe Falls, Ohio –The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli will be back in action after its mid-summer hiatus and is heading to Watkins Glen International, NY (WGI) this weekend. Amy Ruman and her team are anxious to get back to racing as they head into the final four rounds of the season. The TA class has not raced since Round 7 at Road America, WI June 30th.

Durning the break, Ruman was invited to participate in the first iconic SpeedTour All Star Race weekend at Lime Rock Park, CT July 20th, where she drove a TA2 car for the first time in conjunction with some world class past and present drivers. Ruman has had success at WGI, winning here in 2016 and securinmany podium finishes throughout the years.

Trans Am returns to the infamous road course for The Mission Foods Watkins Glen SpeedTour, Round 8 on the schedule and part of the 2024 SpeedTour.  Sportscar Vintage Racing Association’s Hillard U.S. Vintage Grand Prix event will be packed with racing and many activities for fans to enjoy throughout the long weekend. Trans Am is running in conjunction with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), the Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA), International GT (IGT), and Ginetta Challenge.
