Four Regional Sponsors on Board –
McNichols Co., Goodyear Tires, Cenweld Corp., and Cleveland Hard Facing
Munroe Falls, OH – After running two SCCA National events the last two weekends and garnering a win and a 2nd place finish, Amy Ruman will be back in action for Round 4 of the Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am series slated to run at this Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio. She missed Round 3 of the series in Mosport, Canada to run a SCCA National race at Summit Point, WV. Ruman is working to qualify the #23 McNichols/Goodyear/Cenweld Chevrolet Corvette for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs and needs four National races to do it. Ruman is currently 8th in the Trans-Am points standings, with a 3rd at Atlanta and a 6th at VIRginia International Raceway. She is trailing fifth position by only two points.
Ruman will take to the track starting Friday evening for a twilight test session. The Saturday morning session will be practice, followed by one qualifying session on Saturday afternoon at 3:45. The Trans-Am race will start approximately at 2:45 pm Sunday, the last race of the day.
“The month of May has really been busy for us, racing back to back three weekends in a row. I’m glad to be back running with the Trans-Am series again. We will be in front of our home town crowd so I am aiming for another podium finish,” commented Ruman.
Ruman arrives at Mid-Ohio with an additional associate sponsor, one that has been on board with her at Ohio races in the past – Cleveland Hard Facing, Inc. Cleveland Hard Facing is a leader in the development and application of high temperature metal alloys and ceramics as overlays on custom fabricated parts.
“I am extremely pleased to be running at my home track and have my Northeast Ohio sponsors on board for the Mid-Ohio race. McNichols Co. is a national distributor of steel products based in Tampa, Florida with service centers around the country, including Cleveland. Cenweld Corp. is a well-established manufacturer and distributor of truck bodies and equipment throughout Ohio and is based in Cuyahoga Falls. I am also very happy to be reunited with Cleveland Hard Facing, Inc. for this event,” exclaimed Ruman.
