Ruman Racing will kick off the 2009 season entering NE Division GT-1 Champion driver Amy Ruman in the opening round of the Trans-Am Series at Road Atlanta this weekend March 22. The Ruman Team is thrilled to announce their continued partnership with McNichols Co. for the upcoming season. McNichols Co., founded in 1952 and headquartered in Tampa, FL, is the largest U.S. distributor of “Hole” products with service centers across North America. Ruman will be driving the familiar red #23 McNichols Co./Goodyear sponsored Chevrolet Corvette.
“I am excited to see the Trans-Am Series come alive again! I know the drivers and fans have missed the pro series and I am looking forward to participating in it. I plan to run a combination of Trans-Am and SCCA National races and I am aiming to qualify again for the GT-1 Runoffs,” exclaimed Ruman. “I couldn’t be happier to have McNichols Co. return as our lead sponsor and Goodyear as a tire sponsor again.”
The Trans-Am Series will take to the track starting Friday with a test day, round 1 qualifying Saturday morning, and round 2 qualifying on Sunday morning. The 23 car field will run the
90 mile – 36 lap race late Sunday afternoon.
