May 20, 2002 – AMY RUMAN FINISHES 15TH
IN PRO SPEC RACER AT MOSPORT
Bowmanville, Ontario – Amy Ruman put together a solid run in her first race at Victoria Day Weekend at Mosport International Raceway in the Pro Spec Racer Round Three event on Saturday afternoon. In cold weather with a bitter wind, Ruman qualified solidly in 16th in the twenty-eight car field averaging 91mph. During the race, Ruman cleanly diced with a number of competitors and ran as high as 12th. She finished 15th in the seventeen lap race.
“What a track!” exclaimed Ruman. “Mosport was really fast and fun. I tried to stick with the group ahead of me for most of the race. Then I got loose coming out of turn 5 and looped it. I knew it was slick there and I just laid too much power down coming out of the turn, so I lost a few spots to the guys behind me. I am relatively pleased with my finish considering most of my competitors have raced this track before.”
