Munroe Falls, OH – The Ruman team is headed to run the two-car team at Summit Point Raceway, WV, this weekend. Amy Ruman chose to run in the GT-1 National race this weekend in lieu of participating in Round 3 of the Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am series in Mosport, Canada. Ruman wants to qualify her #23 McNichols/Goodyear/Cenweld Chevrolet Corvette for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs and needs four National races to do it. She already has one National win under her belt at last month’s VIRgina race.
“It’s to bad the Trans-Am race and this National race fell on the same weekend. I hated to miss out on the pro race, especially because I was third in the point standings. But I had good luck here last year scoring a win and a new track record, so I will set my sights on a repeat win!” exclaimed Amy Ruman.
Niki Ruman will be running in her first race of the season in her #23 McNichols Co./Dynasty Motorsports sponsored Spec Racer. “I am looking forward to getting the season underway at my home track and hoping to have a good finish here,” commented Niki Ruman.
Two qualifying secessions for both GT-1 and Spec Racer will be on Saturday followed by the races on Sunday. GT-1 is group 3 and Spec Racer is group 7.
