Ruman Finishes 6th at Trans Am Sebring Season Opener
26 Feb 2021
Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and team headed south for Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli 2021 season opener at Sebring International Raceway in Florida this past weekend, however the outcome was not one they had anticipated. Coming back from the offseason and no offseason testing, Ruman had little time in the car prior to qualifying. Teams had a test session Friday morning, but the second TA session that afternoon was rained out. In Saturday’s one official practice session Ruman had a decent fifth. She fell a little short in qualifying the No. 23 McNichols/Cornertech Chevrolet Corvette in seventh position for the Sunday afternoon race. The sunshine state provided a glorious weather weekend for the drivers and teams, and race day was perfect racing weather with temperatures in the sunny 70’s. Ruman was confident to have a good start, keep pace, and let the race come to her and ultimately move up through the pack. She gained a spot after Simon Gregg suffered a mechanical issue off the grid and had a good start challenging Justin Marks’ Corvette on the outside of turn one but had to fall back in line by turn two. Ruman and McNichols Co. Eye 2021 Trans Am Championship – Season Kicks off at Sebring SpeedTour Sunday
18 Feb 2021
Munroe Falls, Ohio – Another short off-season has come to a close and the 2021 Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli season will kick off this weekend February 21st at Sebring International Raceway. Two-time Trans Am Champion Amy Ruman will return for another full season with the series and a shot at another title run. After the March 1st start to the 2020 season at Sebring International Raceway, suddenly the world was taken over by the global Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic. The series and teams were able to navigate and race a shortened schedule effected by circumstances of the strange and unprecedented times. Ruman ran the No. 23 C7 McNichols Corvette in the abbreviated 7-event, 9-race schedule which included two double feature events at VIR and Road Atlanta. Ruman earned three podium finishes—Sebring (3rd), Brainerd (2nd), and VIR-race 2 (3rd). She finished in fourth place in the TA class Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli. In her quest for another Trans Am title, Ruman and the team will once again be backed by faithful longtime sponsor McNICHOLS CO., an Industrial and Architectural Hole Product Solutions company. Ruman Finishes 4th Overall in 2020 TA Trans Am Championship After Scoring 5th and 7th Place Finishes at Road Atlanta Double
25 Nov 2020
Munroe Falls, Ohio – The wild and crazy 2020 Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli wrapped up this past weekend at Road Atlanta, GA. The season finale shifted up due to the cancelation of the December Laguna Seca, CA, event due to the state’s COVID-19 restrictions. Ruman and team had a busy weekend running the No. 23 McNichols/Cornertech Chevrolet Corvette in two separate races last weekend to cap off the season. After qualifying in sixth place for both races, Ruman took home a fifth-place finish in race one, followed by a seventh-place finish in race two. “I was really confident we would end the season here on a bit of a higher note, but unfortunately we just didn’t have the speed this weekend. I was third in the points heading into race two, but then Dyson won and that gave him the points advantage over me to take over third. After a chaotic season with the pandemic and some up and down finishes for us, I guess fourth place is not too bad,” commented Ruman. “I just have to take a moment to thank my outstanding crew – Dave, Mike E., Mike W., Bobby, Blaine, and my parents – without Read more →

Ruman Heads to Atlanta Trans Am Season Finale After Scoring 5th at COTA
19 Nov 2020
Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and the team are heading south to Atlanta after a quick turnaround from the race at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) last week. Changes to the 2020 schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic have shifted the season finale to Road Atlanta this weekend after the Series was forced to cancel the re-scheduled May Laguna Seca event which was now planned for December 6th. Ruman heads to the season finale fourth in the Championship points race after a disappointing race at COTA. Ruman qualified the No. 23 McNichols/Cornertech Chevrolet Corvette fifth on the grid for the start of the race. Ruman had a great start moving up a few spots in the first turn, but then got tagged from behind and spun in turn 2. She was able to continue but fell way back in the field, eventually moving back up to finish in fifth. “I was super disappointed I got spun after I had another great start. We were racing closely and both vying for that slot. Unfortunately, we lost a chance at gaining some valuable points to try and move up in the Championship race,” expressed Ruman. The Road Atlanta event this weekend, originally Read more →
